Geoff is a man of passions. He must be, as few people on the West Coast would call themselves die-hard Miami Dolphins fans. Humor aside, it takes passion, dedication, and drive to do all the things Geoff has done in his life that culminated in the establishment of Tailwind Financial Strategies.
Setting the stage for Tailwind Financial Strategies has been sixteen years as a participant in the financial services industry. Ten of these years was as a curious and trusting client, and then another six as a wealth advisor with a national firm doing all he could to foster the meaningful environment that he knew was important in connecting effectively with his clients. Eventually, being a fiercely independent individual, he knew that the best way to continue forward was as an independent LPL Financial Advisor in the formation of Tailwind Financial Strategies.
It could be said that this independence has always been part of his future, as Geoff’s general approach to life has been to continually improve himself so that he could take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves. For example, during his twenty years of service in the United States Coast Guard, not only did he reach the rank of E-7 (Chief Storekeeper), but he also completed a Bachelor’s degree in accounting as well as a Masters degree in organizational leadership. He also received the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Master Certificate, which is a program focusing on process efficiency and improvement. All of this learning and experience has helped him to exceed in his role as a financial consultant.
The most important opportunity to come his way, though, was for Geoff to marry his wife, Christy. They are very similar in many ways, especially from the perspective of active engagement in independently owned business endeavors as Christy works as a home stager and assists her clients in home re-design. Their family includes two boys, Isaac and Nathan, who they are having the pleasure of helping them develop into great men themselves.
Most of Geoff’s time is dedicated to his family, including family movie nights. However, Geoff is also active in his church as a Deacon, working with the Men’s Ministry and serving on the Church Security Team. And beyond his love for the Miami Dolphins, a piece of his heart is dedicated to Ohio State Buckeye football.
